Dana White shuts down Conor McGregor to WWE rumor with text messages from Vince McMahon

Is this how millionaire sports entertainment bigwigs get deals done, via simple text messages? Possibly with the aid of some sort cat meme or excessive emoji use, UFC President Dana White is throwing the last 48 hours of “Conor McGregor to the WWE” rumors over the top rope and onto the floor.

Thanks to a text message exchange with none other than Vince McMahon, White is having none of the Internet’s fantasy booking of his current UFC lightweight champion competing at WrestleMania 34; not even a handy and realistic top ten first opponents list.

Making a Thursday morning appearance on Good Day New York, White was asked about the McGregor to WWE rumors.

"It's not true. It's absolutely not true, I literally just texted Vince McMahon five minutes ago."

With the hosts of the morning show still not believing the UFC promoter, White offered to show them the texts McMahon sent him.

In a response to a link White sent about McGregor, McMahon’s first text read:

"News to me".

McMahon’s second text to White in regards to McGregor to the WWE read:

"It might be good someday but not now"
