The pay-per-view (PPV) portion of the Royal Rumble event at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas kicked off tonight (Sun., Jan. 29, 2017) kicked off with a Raw women’s title match, as Charlotte put her championship on the line against Bayley. She also put her PPV win streak of 15 on the line.
Make it 16.
It was a long, drawn out, back-and-forth affair that had the crowd every step of the way, from the first near fall on a great looking elbow drop from Bayley to an extended sequence reversing the Figure Four into the Figure Eight.
It led to a clever spot where Charlotte hit Natural Selection on the apron. It looked impressive, and was enough to get the three count.

The finish fell a little flat in the sense the crowd didn’t seem to expect it when it came but the match was very good.
