WWE Royal Rumble 2017 results: Naomi pins Alexa Bliss to lead her team to victory in SmackDown women’s tag

The women of the blue brand all ended up in one match for Royal Rumble tonight (Jan. 29) in San Antonio, and that six-person tag not only landed on the two hour pre-show, but it was the first in-ring action of the entire card. Naomi headed to the ring at around 5:30PM Eastern time to get things rolling.

As expected, this was used to further existing programs and tease future feuds of SmackDown, like Becky Lynch vs. Mickie James, Natalya vs. Nikki Bella and Naomi vs. champ Alexa Bliss.

After a couple early spots where the babyface team united to clear the ring of the heels...

...Lynch did one of the things she does best and played face-in-peril. When the Lasskicker finally reached her corner, Natty pulled Nikki from the apron. A little ground and pound from the Fearless One continued the brawling nature of their rivalry.

When Bex finally got some relief, it came from the recently-returned-from-injury Naomi. And not only did the GLOW master fly, taking care of business like a good hot tag should, she also pinned Bliss to cement her claim to a future title shot.
