With a pretty steady stream of global stars and independent wrestling standouts flowing into the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, it’s got to be difficult for the contestants from the company’s old reality competition show Tough Enough - or anyone trying to learn to be a sports entertainer more or less from scratch - to get noticed.
From the last edition of TE, we’ve seen the female winner, Sara Lee, and a popular male contestant, ZZ Loupe, exit the company after some time in Developmental. Today, Mada Abdelhamid revealed he’s following them, having asked for and been granted his release from WWE:
WWE Universe, I have recently made a tough decision and I have asked for my release from the WWE!
It's been one hell of a journey since I started on Tough Enough... But I had to make a decision to do what's best for my family, and for myself. I wanted to thank you for your love and support... I have nothing but love for the WWE universe, you guys are AWESOME!!! It's time to start the next chapter of my life, and I'm excited to announce some big news with you all soon #Blessed
Mada, a personal trainer and former professional basketball player, was eliminated mid-way through the season.
Season six contestants Patrick Clark, Mandy Rose and Daria Berenato are still signed and appear regularly for NXT on WWE Network and at live events. Josh “Bronson Matthews” Bredl is believed to still be under contract, but hasn’t been used on any type of show for quite some time.
