WWE Clash of Champions 2016 results: Roman Reigns wins US title from Rusev

Roman Reigns ruined a special wedding celebration Rusev and Lana were having and they’ve been battling it out ever since. They went so hard at each other the last time they met, at SummerSlam, the match never even got started.

Naturally, that meant they had to get to another bout, this one a US title match at tonight’s (Sun., Sept. 25, 2016) Clash of Champions pay-per-view (PPV) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Rusev was in control for much of the match, brutalizing Reigns with a methodical approach. Roman periodically made comebacks and it quickly turned into a heavyweight slugfest. Lana got involved late when it looked like her husband might lose, first distracting Reigns and then actually pulling the referee out of the ring before he could count three on a spear.

That led to her getting thrown out in dramatic fashion.

Rusev was getting the better of Reigns one-on-one even after Lana left, hitting a superkick and going into The Accolade. Then Roman hulked up and hit a spear for the deciding fall.
