WWE supersized its Kickoff Show for tonight's (Sun., Aug. 21, 2016) SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York by offering three matches over a two-hour time span.
The night began with a 12-man tag team match pitting a crew of babyface teams, American Alpha & Hype Bros & The Usos, taking on a crew of heel teams, The Vaudevillains & The Ascension & Breezango. It was, essentially, a match designed to warm up the crowd with a lot of fun action that saw each team get its stuff in, ending with Jey Uso getting the pin by taking advantage of American Alpha's teamwork.
They teased issue with it but all celebrated together anyway.
The action continued with Neville finding yet another tag team partner, this time Sami Zayn, and taking out The Dudley Boyz once more thanks to a combination of miscommunication on the part of the bad guys and Neville's Red Arrow finish.
It looks like money every time.
Finally, Cesaro and Sheamus got their best-of-7 series kicked off with a fun back-and-forth slugfest that turned when Sheamus countered a Sharpshooter attempt with a good old fashioned THUMB TO THE EYE. He followed that up with sending Cesaro's bum shoulder into the ring post and scored a pin shortly after.
Sheamus - 1
Cesaro - 0
