Randy Orton returns at Battleground, shoots on Brock Lesnar

The Viper is back!

Randy Orton made his official return to WWE television at tonight's (Sun., July 24, 2016) Battleground pay-per-view (PPV) at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. He was there to appear on "The Highlight Reel" with Chris Jericho, where they would presumably talk about his match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam next month.

It didn't look like they were going to, as they started by going back-and-forth trading barbs about maybe dishing out RKO's and Codebreakers and some comedy. Then they finally got around to airing a Lesnar video package so Jericho could claim Randy is scared of "The Beast."

So Orton turned it around and threw it in Jericho's face that he came back from a long absence to work with Fandango. Then he went for the mic drop -- he brought up the fact that "it takes 20 suplexes to get to Suplex City but it only takes one RKO to get to Viperville" before saying "no enhancements needed." And then he literally dropped the mic.

"Something tells me you're going to pay for that," Jericho responded.

They closed the segment by having Jericho do his best to piss Orton off, it working, and Randy hitting him with an RKO ... OUTTA NOWHERE.

Yeah.
