WWE SmackDown returns to the USA Network this coming Thursday night (July 14, 2016) from Grand Rapids, Michigan but the show was taped, as usual, on Tuesday. That means full spoilers are readily available if you're the impatient type who doesn't want to wait a couple days for the payoff.
Unwrap that present early:
- Sasha Banks def. Dana Brooke with The Bank Statement despite attempted interference from Charlotte. The women's champion did attack post-match and stood tall with her title.
- Dolph Ziggler def. Rusev via roll up thanks to an assist from Zack Ryder, who Rusev was chasing after. Rusev freaked out after the loss.
- AJ Styles & Karl Anderson def. Enzo & Cass with Enzo tapping to the Calf Crusher. We got some tweets saying Enzo was limping leaving the building, so he must have really been selling it.
- Kalisto def. Tyler Breeze in a nothing match.
- Miz TV with Darren Young and Bob Backlund saw Miz put Backlund over with a video package just to run one that featured no career highlights for Young. They all argued and eventually the Intercontinental champion left with Maryse.
- They did a backstage segment with Charlotte and Dana Brooke telling Sasha Banks she has to find a tag team partner for a match against them at Battleground.
- Dean Ambrose def. Kevin Owens via disqualification shortly into the match when Seth Rollins interfered. Sami Zayn made his way out and, naturally, that led to a tag team match that saw Rollins and Owens defeat Ambrose and Zayn in the main event.
That's the last taped episode of SmackDown, folks. You watching?
