The kayfabe nightmare of WWE’s new Scooby Doo! movie

This is the danger of doing animated movies using pro wrestling characters and gimmicks.

And I’m not even talking about how Scooby-Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon features Undertaker entering an off-road muscle car/monster truck racing competition so he can win start-up capital for his dream of owning his own puppet show.

That part’s kind of awesome.

No, it’s that even a basic cartoon feature takes years to complete, so we’re left with a flick starring guys who’ve been repackaged or even released by the time it hits shelves. In this case, on BluRay and DVD this August 9th.

Check out this credits screen:

El Torito and Stardust: Released

Diego and Fernando: now working for the Puerto Rico Dept. of Tourism

Kofi Kingston: now part of a super-over stable WWE & Hanna-Barbera wishes was in this movie

I won’t even count Dusty. It’ll actually be nice hearing Dream again, in any form.

Ah well. We are getting this...

... and since this involves large motorized vehicles, I’m assuming a tank will be involved.

Add it all up, and I'm calling that a win.
