WWE Money in the Bank 2016 results: New Day retain tag team titles in sloppy match

The tag team division is suddenly deep enough to support as much, so the tag team titles were on the line in a Fatal 4-Way match at tonight's (June 19, 2016) WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV) at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. Indeed, The New Day were attempting to defend their straps against The Club, The Vaudevillains, and Enzo Amore & Big Cass.

The early part of the match established a clear hierarchy within the division. The Club and Vaudevillains were in on most of the early action but it was in service of building to a big showdown between the more popular teams, New Day and Enzo & Cass. It proved to be a short tease, as they worked the other teams back into it.

It got crazy in a hurry, particularly when Cass got the hot tag and ran wild. They set up for Air Enzo and it looked like they had the tag titles won when Luke Gallows pulled Amore off just in time. Just after that, they set up another false finish only this time it was with Aiden English nearly pinning Kofi Kingston before Karl Anderson jumped in right before the three count.

Next it was The Club's turn to get a near fall but New Day eventually got back in and they worked their way through a really sloppy finish that was put together well enough but timed poorly. That included Gallows just staring at Big E while he was setting up for the Big Ending until Cass ran in -- after what felt like forever -- to get him out with a big boot over the top rope. In the end, English was pinned.

And still your tag team champs.
