A couple recent NXT call-ups get another promotion - this time from the pre-show to the main card of Sunday, June 19’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV).

Apollo Crews is someone many were surprised to see on the Raw after WrestleMania. A guy with a ton of upside, his character in NXT was fairly undefined and while he was popular, he wasn’t a fan favorite. His initial run on the main roster consisted of a program with Social Outcasts and then...
Sheamus, meanwhile, was a beneficiary of WWE’s need for a heel Roman Reigns could feud with through the Winter. That netted him his fourth World title run, but after several months of being the Big Dog’s whipping boy, a break to promote his role as a villainous lackey in the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles flick couldn’t have come at a better time.
To reintroduce both men back to Raw and SmackDown, Creative went with a simple storyline - Sheamus is an egotistical jerk:
And, with the help of some kindly advice from Big Show, Crews is the guy who will stand up to the bully:
What's at stake?
Both men need a win, and the move to PPV portion of the broadcast only raises the stakes that much more.
One would assume Crews is the more important piece for the future, but that’s a long way off when WWE may be trying to pop ratings for two distinct rosters in a month’s time. Could they serve Apollo up to help position Sheamus as a top rudo on one of the brands after July 19?
Of course they could, and even would.
But we’ll have to tune in tomorrow night (or hang out here at Cageside Seats) to find out what they decide.
