WWE SmackDown results, live blog (June 16, 2016): Money in the Bank go home show

WWE SmackDown comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (June 16, 2016) from Biloxi, Mississippi with a taped show on the USA Network featuring all the latest build to the upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for this Sunday night in Paradise, Nevada.

Because SmackDown is a taped show, you can simply go read the spoilers to know everything that happens (find them by clicking here). We will provide results below.

You can use this space to discuss all the events as they occur, however, and it's probably going to enhance your viewing experience. In fact, I know it is because we're a lot of fun around here.

Enjoy the show!

SMACKDOWN RESULTS

Chris here. Let's do this...

WWE Signature and SmackDown intro

________________________________________

Chris Jericho is already in the ring for The Highlight Reel.

He reminds us that this is The Highlight Reel, complete with a new set, new JeriTron 6500, and a $20.000 carpet. He tells us that he's rich.

He focuses on the Money in the Bank briefcase hanging above him. He says that he's gonna win the match that he created no matter what Jericho's guest thinks.

And his guest? None other than Dean Ambrose.

Ambrose congratulates Jericho on his new sets and starts quizzing Jericho about his carpet. Jericho tells Ambrose to watch his coffee and informs us that the carpet is made out of 100% Serengeti yak hair. Jericho barks at Ambrose about his coffee again as Ambrose basks in the glory of the new set.

Jericho gets annoyed and tells us that everyone has lost their JeriTron privileges. After the JeriTron ascends to the heavens, Jericho tells Ambrose that he still remembers the abuse that he has taken at Ambrose's hands, including the 69 thumbtacks inserted into him at Extreme Rules.

Jericho keeps going on about the 69 thumbtacks and starts taunting Ambrose about how he has never been WWE World Heavyweight Champion (an accolade that Jericho has accomplished six times).

Jericho starts talking about he is going to win at Money in the Bank until Kevin Owens makes his presence known.

Owens tells Ambrose and Jericho that neither of them are cashing in. The simple fact is that the contract is already Owens'. Owens tells the Mississippi fools to boo before talking about when he could cash in.

At this very moment, Alberto Del Rio comes out and reminds the dirty perros in the ring that he is the only one who has cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase successfully.

Secret Agent Cesaro tries to interrupt and gets interrupted by Sami Zayn.

"Really?" - Cesaro.

Zayn reminds us that we've got a big-ass tag match tonight until Cesaro calls him out for interrupting him. Jericho interrupts and calls both Cesaro and Zayn stupid idiots. They don't like this much, so both enter the ring to join the eventual brawl.

Jericho peps his team up by saying that his team has the dignity and poise and all that. At this moment, Ambrose violate's Jericho's carpet with his coffee, sparking the obligatory brawl. Everyone is separated to end the segment.

Big Cass vs Kofi Kingston vs Aiden English vs Luke Gallows

The New Day interrupted Enzo Amore's intro and ddi a Bullet Club tribute by having Kofi Kingston ride in on Big E's shoulders. Also, Enzo and Xavier Woods are on commentary.

This was a pretty quick yet fun match with a few fun spots (nothing too insane though). Xavier and Enzo's commentary was entertaining, and the amount of outside interference wasn't excessive. In the end, Kofi hits English with Trouble in Paradise to win.

Renee Young interviews Natalya and Becky Lynch about their upcoming match against Charlotte and Dana Brooke at Money in the Bank. Natalya says stuff and Becky rips Charlotte about not being able to win a match either on her own or with help. Charlotte and Dana come in now and say that they know their partnership, and that Charlotte needs to prepare to knock the living daylights out of Natalya.

Baron Corbin vs Zack Ryder

Dolph Ziggler is on commentary for reasons.

This happened. Corbin wins.

After, Ziggler and Corbin have a staredown until Corbin walks away

Kalisto vs Rusev....never starts

Before the match, Lana tells us to stand up and welcome the greatest United States Champion, Rusev.

Rusev is in kill mode tonight as he catches Kalisto mid-entrance and hosses him around before hitting DAT KICK and locking in the Coquina Accolade. Sin Cara tries to make the save, but takes a Coquina Accolade of his own.

Titus O'Neil eventually comes out to both make the save and get revenge for the beating he received on Monday. Lana is displeased.

Renee Young interviews AJ Styles about John Cena. AJ says that he will beat Cena on his own on Sunday, and he will prove that he is phenomenal.

The New Day interrupts and Xavier Woods calls AJ's haircut "emo". They keep making fun of AJ until he tells them to shut up. AJ challenges Xavier to a pure one-on-one match. No Club, No Idiots. Xavier accepts this, and it's gonna happen RIGHT NOW!

AJ Styles vs Xavier Woods

This was a really good match that showed both the improvement of Xavier Woods and the absolute viciousness that AJ is capable of. His banter game was on point, including a great "LOOK WHAT I'M GONNA DO TO JOHN CENA" quip before locking Xavier in the Calf Crusher for the submission win (note: this was following a Phenomenal Forearm).

AJ Styles def Xavier Woods

Afterwards, AJ tells us that this match was only a taste of what we'll see done to John Cena at Money in the Bank.

More of Bob Backlund making Darren Young great. This time, Backlund advises Darren not to take advice from anyone. Darren questions Backlund and gets some PT for his troubles.

Natalya vs Charlotte

In this feud that never ends, this one just happened. Toward the end, Becky and Dana got into a brawl that spilled into the ring. During the scuffle, Charlotte pulled an Eddie Guerrero and threw Natalya the Women's Title belt. The ref questioned Natalya about this, and this gave Charlotte a moment to take advantage of Natalya and knock her down. A Figure Eight gets her the win.

Alberto Del Rio, Chris Jericho, and Kevin Owens vs Cesaro, Dean Ambrose, and Sami Zayn

This was your typical Money in the Bank go-home main event. Standard six-man tag with both teams falling apart toward the end. The face team inadvertently took each other out, and Kevin Owens took his team out before eating Dirty Deeds.

Cesaro, Dean Ambrose, and Sami Zayn def Alberto Del Rio, Chris Jericho, and Kevin Owens
