More WWE releases reportedly coming this month

WWE.com

After a furious few hours on May 6, things have been quiet on the WWE contract front.

Does that mean "Black Friday" was the end of wrestlers being released from WWE? For the immediate future, that seems likely. They could have sent more people packing last week if they were going to, and with quarterly financial reporting due tomorrow, it's doubtful they'll have the inclination, or the time, to include "future endeavors" in their press cycle.

According to PWInsider, however, that doesn't mean the current roster should feel safe. Mike Johnson's sources tell him more releases are coming. While there isn't a specific date mentioned (rumors started swirling on Thursday last week that cuts were coming the next day), the report does say the next wave will happen in May.

Who will be joining Damien Sandow, Cameron, Hornswoggle, Zeb Colter, Santino Marella, Wade Barrett, Alex Riley and El Torito in whatever-comes-next?

Is releasing eight-plus performers an indication that tomorrow's numbers might not be that rosy, or just a necessary house cleaning?

Stay tuned.
