According to PWInsider.com, Eric Young has not signed a contract with WWE, despite making his NXT debut. For now, the appearance was a one-off, although there is nothing to prevent him from reaching an agreement with WWE and signing a contract in the future.
Young made his televised NXT debut on Wednesday night's episode of NXT, interrupting Samoa Joe's show-opening promo and challenging him to a match. That non-title match was the main event of the same episode, where Eric Young lost cleanly after being hit with the Muscle Buster and pinned.
Eric Young now joins Bobby Roode and Kota Ibushi in being three international free agents who have appeared on NXT television without being under contract. The last rumors to surround Roode had NXT officials interested in bringing him in in a "player-coach" capacity, where he would serve as a veteran presence while being a part of the NXT roster. One imagines Young would be used in a similar capacity if he were to sign.
