Monday night's episode of RAW is set to feature five qualifier matches for the right to compete in the Money in the Bank ladder match at the upcoming pay-per-view of the same name. In the first qualifier of the night, Sami Zayn scored what might be considered an upset win against last year's Money in the Bank winner, Sheamus.
Sheamus ran down Zayn in an interview with Renee Young prior to the match, making fun of his dancing, his hat and the fact that he's from Canada. He didn't want to listen to Renee say that she is also from Canada and said that anyone watching at home shouldn't let their children watch what he's about to do to Zayn.
True to his moniker, the Underdog from the Underground spent most of the match fighting from underneath, while a symbolic Money in the Bank briefcase hung high over the ring. Zayn managed to dodge a Brogue Kick attempt and hit the Helluva Kick for the big win.
This will be Sami Zayn's first Money in the Bank match and will be his second ladder match since being called up to the main roster, following his role in the seven-man Intercontinental Championship ladder match at WrestleMania 32.
Money in the Bank -- the seventh installment of the PPV event to be presented by WWE since the MITB ladder match has been removed from the WrestleMania lineup -- will take place on June 19 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.
