Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is reporting that, despite being shown in an onscreen RAW graphic for the No. 1 contender's battle royal for the United States Championship on Monday, Ryback was sent home by WWE officials.
From PWInsider:
The word making the rounds, according to multiple sources, is that Ryback was sent home and will be, as of this writing, off TV indefinitely. One version of the story is that Ryback himself asked to be pulled from TV.
Ryback's contract with the company expires this summer and the two sides have been, according to several sources, at odds over negotiations for a new contract.
Ryback has been outspoken over the past year about not being happy with his role in the company and that he believes he should be one of the top people in WWE. He recently talked about how he's been unhappy with his role in the past three WrestleManias.
Perhaps his new gear at Sunday's Payback pay-per-view, where he crowned himself "The Pre-Show Stopper" also didn't do him any favors.
