Alex Del Barrio, best known as Alex Reyes on NXT programming, has been released by WWE, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com.
Reyes had been with WWE since October of 2015, when he appeared on WWE television as an announcer and backstage interviewer. He quickly became a favorite with NXT fans, in part because of his almost uncanny resemblance to fellow announcer Rich Brennan, who was also released by WWE recently. There definitely appears to be some housecleaning happening with the announcers at WWE right now.
WWE.com posted a lengthy interview with Reyes as a means of introduction in April. You can read that here.
At least Reyes got one wonderful, classic moment before he left. During a recent backstage interview with Tye Dillinger, he was deemed a "3." But he took it all in stride.
Hey @TomPhillipsWWE @WWEGraves I earned that 3!!
