Earlier today, WWE passed along word that Emma suffered an injury at a house show back on May 8 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico teaming with Lana opposite Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks. At first, the report only indicated she was undergoing testing to see how hurt she may be.
In an update posted a short time ago, it's been revealed she will need back surgery and be out indefinitely because of it:
"Emma has a ruptured disc that will require her to have surgery," explained WWE ringside physician Dr. Chris Robinson. "She came to us in a great deal of pain, which seemed to be increasing. She was then given an M.R.I., which revealed that further action would need to be taken. Unfortunately, the Superstar's estimated recovery time cannot be determined until after her procedure is complete."
The timing of this couldn't be worse, as she was involved in a program with Becky Lynch that was getting television time and leading to a match on pay-per-view (PPV). It also leaves Dana Brooke on her own just one week after she was called up to the main WWE roster.
Monday night, while RAW was still on the air, Emma tweeted her reaction to the injury:
I'm pretty gutted about my injury, and of course, the timing! But all the love and support going into surgery Wednesday helps. Thanks! #RAW

Here's to hoping for a speedy recovery for one of the better heels on the roster.
