WWE SmackDown results, live blog (May 12, 2016): Tag team action, playa!

WWE SmackDown comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (May 12, 2016) from Des Moines, Iowa with a taped show on the USA Network featuring more build toward the Extreme Rules pay-per-view (PPV) coming up on Sunday, May 22 in Newark, New Jersey.

Because SmackDown is a taped show, you can simply go read the spoilers to know everything that happens (find them by clicking here). We will provide results below.

You can use this space to discuss all the events as they occur, however, and it's probably going to enhance your viewing experience. In fact, I know it is because we're a lot of fun around here.

Enjoy the show!

SMACKDOWN RESULTS

Then. Now. Forever.

Dean Ambrose/Chris Jericho segment

The show opens with Dean Ambrose. He says while Jericho claims he owes him $15K for the jacket Ambrose destroyed on Monday, Dean says he thinks they're even since he destroyed his plant. Plus, he's still mad that Jericho still tried to take wrestling from him due to the injury. So he's going to take away from Jericho what is most important to him: his ego.

Jericho's music hits and the lights go out. However, when they come back on, Dean Ambrose is laid out in the ring and Y2J is standing over him. Jericho then takes a straight jacket out of a bag and puts it on Jericho. While Ambrose struggles in the jacket, Jericho shouts at him "You belong in an asylum!" He then attacks a defenseless Jericho, ending in a Code Breaker. The refs come down to hold Jericho back, but he breaks free for one more Code Breaker.

Beating up a dude in a straight jacket is pretty good heeling.

Sin Cara vs. Rusev (w/Lana) in a rematch from Raw.

I think we can be pretty sure this will be some 50/50 but let's find out.

On commentary, Kalisto continues to stress how angry Rusev is. In the ring, Rusev is taking that anger out on Sin Cara. Sin Cara eventually gets his offense going.

Outside the ring, Lana tosses water onto Kalisto, who is wearing a full suit. He gets up to argue with her and while he is, Rusev slides out of the ring and kicks him in the back. Then the Bulgarian gets back in the ring, hits a kick to Sin Cara, puts him in the Accolade, and wins via submission.

50/50 indeed.

Renee Young interviews Emma. She asks her about Dana Brooke but Dana Brooke rolls in and answers for herself. She says she's beautiful, defiant, and a body building champion. Renee asks why they targeted Becky Lynch. Dana Brooke says when NXT started, Emma was on top. But now Becky is the one running around with her dumb puns. Dana Brooke will face Becky tonight!

Dana Brooke (w/Emma) vs. Becky Lynch

Early in the match, Becky pats Dana on the head! Dana pulls Becky down by the hair and starts laying into her. This gives her control of the match, talking trash much of the time. After awhile, Becky gets her fire comeback. However, Dana trips Becky onto the ropes and as the ref pulls Dana back, Emma pokes Becky in the eye!

Dana takes advantage and applies a jackknife cover for the win.

Dana Brooke def. Becky Lynch via pinfall.

Dana Brooke proves to be awesome.

Backstage, the Club is talking with each other. AJ and Roman are both banned from ringside in an Anderson/Gallows vs. Usos match tonight. AJ tells them if Roman shows his face tonight during their match, he'll take care of him.

New Day/Vaudevillains promo

The New Day comes out. Kofi is wearing unicorn horns like shoulder pads. They talk about the Vaudevillains put their noses in the New Days... Booty O's last night. Xavier said the VVs "Kanye Wested" them, meaning they stuck their noses in businesses that didn't have anything to do with them. So they are going to smack them back to the future.

The Vaudevillains come out in response. Aiden English says they are real men who use their education and intellect to outsmart their loud mouth opponents. And this Sunday, they can call them their "WWE World Tag Team Champions." (He sings that part.) Gotch tells the champs that the sun will set on the New Day and the night belongs to the Vaudevillains.

Kofi Kingston vs. Aiden English

Kofi starts out hot against English. However, when Kofi goes for a baseball slide on Aiden outside the ring, English ducks, grabs Kofi, and tosses him into the ring post. English has the advantage for awhile but Kofi eventually fights back. Gotch tries to enter the ring but Big E and Xavier stop him. The ref decides to toss everyone.

Back in the ring, Kofi goes for a pin but English kicks out. Kingston tries for a sunset flip, but the Artiste sits down into a cover and holds the ropes for the win.

Backstage, Roman tells the Usos not to worry about him. Just take care of business. And if AJ shows his face, he'll be out there ASAP

The Usos vs. Anderson & Gallows.

The Usos start out working on Karl Anderson. However, Gallows pulls Jimmy Uso down by the hair from the ring apron to give his team control. Jimmy is in trouble for awhile until Jey gets the hot tag. But when Jey is on the outside of the ring, Gallows hits a big boot to him as SmackDown goes to commercials.

The show returns with the Club members dominating Jey Uso. Finally, Jey hits a superkick on Gallows and both men tag out. Jimmy unloads on KA. He finally hits the Samoan Splash but Gallows pulls out Jimmy and tosses him over the announce table resulting in a DQ?

That never result in a DQ.

The Usos def Gallows & Anderson via DQ

After the match, both teams brawl. After introducing a steel chair, Gallows and Anderson and the two left standing.

They air a new Darren Young/Bob Backlund segment. Bob asks Darren what time it is and Darren pulls out his phone. Backlund tells him not to call the operator and waste her time. Bob talks about all the things that he needs and Darren tells him that's all on his phone. Because of the backtalk, he makes Darren do 200 squats.

Alright, everyone, it's time for the epic you've been waiting for.

Gorgeous Truth vs. Goldango

When Goldust and Truth are in the ring at the same time, the crowd chants "Golden Truth." They don't want to fight each other so Truth tags Breeze in. Breeze then shoves Truth out of the ring. Fandango runs in... but nails Goldust! TYLER BREEZE AND FANDANGO ARE A TEAM!

Fandango steps back to allow Breeze pin Goldust for the win.

Gorgeous Truth def. Goldango (technically)

After the match, Breeze and Fandango beat down Truth. Goldust runs into help but gets beaten as well. Goldust covers R-Truth to protect him.

They play a video recap of the Charlotte/Nattie/Paige/Flair stuff from Monday.

Renee Young interviews Charlotte and Ric Flair. Charlotte said what happened to Ric Flair on Monday was a travesty. Renee asks if the loss to Paige is a sign of things to come on Sunday. Ric tells her that is the dumbest question ever asked. He's the dirtiest player in the game and he taught her everything he knows.

Cesaro & Sami Zayn vs. the Miz and Kevin Owens

As Miz is walking out, KO grabs a headset and tells Byron Saxton that this is the Kevin Owens giving the Miz one last chance to be a good tag partner. He also tells Saxton that he "better talk good about me" tonight.

The match starts with Cesaro manhandling the Miz. Miz tags in Kevin Owens so Sami tags in. KO turns to tag the Miz back in but the Miz hops down avoiding the tag. Sami has total control on KO, who is able to eventually hit a single elbow to allow Miz to tag in.

Miz already looks to try to leave the match, but KO stops him and the two bicker. As they are doing so, both Sami and Cesaro hit flying moves to take both guys out as SD goes to break!

The show returns and Sami Zayn is in control. It's short lived though when Sami goes after Miz on the outside, Maryse stands in his way. While this is happening, KO nails Sami from behind and now the heels have control. Sami is the face in peril for awhile until finally, Sami hit s a huge lariat and then a Blue Thunder Bomb, leaving both he & Miz down. Sami crawls to the corner and tags in Cesaro as Miz tags in KO.

Cesaro comes out with a flurry of uppercuts. He runs outside to deliver one to the Miz, who is resting on the barricade, and comes back in to work on KO. Cesaro goes for the Cesaro Swing on Owens but Miz comes in to stop him. Now these two brawl into the corner. Sami Zayn runs to deliver the Helluva Kick to Miz, but Miz moves and Sami nails Cesaro! Miz drags Sami out of the ring and KO hits a frog splash on Cesaro for the 1-2-3!

Kevin Owens & Miz def. Cesaro and Sami Zayn.

All the men hit moves on each other at the end of the match, with the Miz the man standing tall in the end.
