When Daniel Bryan was forced to retire from professional wrestling due to injury issues, it was clear his wife, Brie Bella, wouldn't be far behind him. She's made no secret of the fact that she wants to become a mother and the time to start a family couldn't be better.
Reports made the rounds she would retiring from WWE sooner rather than later late last month, likely on the Raw the night after WrestleMania 32. Then that event happened, she got to submit Naomi, and she was carried out like it was her last match. Social media messages immediately after seemed to confirm as much.
Now, in an interview with WWE.com, she's coming right out and saying it while leaving the door open for something down the road:
"Yes. WrestleMania 32 was my last match. I wouldn't say my last match forever, just my last match that you'll see in a while. I am here at home because Daniel Bryan and I want to start a family soon. Or I shouldn't say soon â we want to start it now! We're going to start having babies, so I have to put my career on hold. It doesn't mean that I'm going to be gone. I'm going to be an ambassador for WWE. But I'm going to try motherhood."
She goes on to say that this isn't an official retirement because she does have plans on making a comeback but you never know where life will take you.
It's entirely possible, then, that we've seen the last of Brie Bella wrestling in a WWE ring. We have not, however, seen the last of her on WWE television, as she will continue to be an ambassador for the company as well as a cast member on Total Divas, where all of this drama will play out in future episodes.
