The biggest episode of Monday Night Raw of the year, the night after WrestleMania 32, took place last night (April 4, 2016) in Dallas, Texas with AJ Styles defeating Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, and Cesaro to become the number one contender to the WWE world heavyweight championship in the main event.
We don't know when it's happening, but he will challenge Roman Reigns for that title at some point in the near future.
As you can see in the video above, Styles got emotional after the USA Network broadcast went off the air, telling the adoring fans how much he loved them for treating him the way they did. This all came just one night after he was beaten by Jericho at WrestleMania, leaving fans wondering where he ultimately fit in the pecking order.
Few expected by the end of the evening he would be the top contender to the world title, yet here we are.
