There's been one common denominator to all the house shows-turned-WWE Network specials, and his name is Brock Lesnar.
Which is why his being added to the event scheduled for June 29 in Honolulu is being eyed as the next such show, after February's Roadblock in Toronto. NXT's Asuka and Shinsuke Nakamura were already listed for the show, as they're key pieces of the July 1 - 2 Tokyo shows.
Dave Meltzer, in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required but recommended), speculates that Lesnar's addition makes Honolulu a candidate for the Roadblock treatment. Although he specifies he hasn't heard anything concrete, the NXT Women's champ, Swagsuke and Brock make a formidible promotional trio. Plus, the Beast Incarnate has never worked Hawaii as a pro wrestler or mixed martial artist, giving them a hook such as his return to Japan for Beast in the East.
Working against it, however, is that it's a Wednesday - not a night where WWE has run anything live other than NXT TakeOver specials. The Saturday, July 2 Sumo Hall show would fit the model better, although Brock is not scheduled to finish the mini-tour in Japan.
If any of those dates will become live Network content, we should know in May.
Stay tuned.
