New USA Network graphics for Raw and SmackDown revive talk of a 2016 WWE brand split

Put this in the "wild speculation" file, but at least it's a topic on which we wrestling fans love to speculate.

This week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter (happy Thursday!) says WWE's marketing department recently produced new Raw and SmackDown graphics for USA Network. These feature different sets of talent, which normally wouldn't be a big deal - why wouldn't you want to promote as many different names and faces as possible? - but considering the stipulation for Shane McMahon's match with Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 has specifically mentioned control of Monday nights, well...

The Raw graphic is said to feature: John Cena, Kevin Owens, Bray Wyatt, Alberto Del Rio, Charlotte and Nikki Bella.

SmackDown's has: Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, The New Day, Dolph Ziggler and Paige.

The name that jumps out - at least for this writer - is Reigns. IF there's a brand split and IF these graphics have anything to do with it, putting him on the blue brand would seem to be an admission he's not the top guy. Raw is the flagship, and during the previous split show era was always the home of the current ace, while Thursday night was where veterans and rising stars would go.

But there's all kind of fun to be had by reading too much into this. Could Roman be turning to feud with Ambrose as the top rivalry on SmackDown? Does Owens place mean he could be the new future star they've tapped if they've soured on Reigns?

Let your thoughts run wild, Cagesiders.
