This made the rounds yesterday, and I honestly wasn't sure what to say about it.
These videos of middle-aged wrestling performers working out make the rounds pretty frequently, so they obviously attract a lot of attention. In this one, the 50 year old Undertaker deadlifts 500 pounds and then executes a 40 inch box jump.
It's impressive as hell (he's seven years older than me and I've never wrestled a day in my life - and I couldn't approach either feat even if I trained for six months from where I am today) and helps establish his credentials as an athlete you should pay money to see when he fights Shane McMahon in Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 32 in a couple weeks.
But what does it say that these videos, and the numerous Shane and Triple H ones, are practically required to convince us this will be a fair and entertaining exhibition?
Brock Lesnar may be a part-timer, but I can look at him and know what I'm getting. Dean Ambrose or (for all his physique gets ridiculed and critiqued) Kevin Owens demonstrate what they're capable of week-in and week-out, so there's no need for evidence of behind-the-scenes prep.
Oh well, don't mind me. I overthink things.
I should probably just follow Taker's example and get my ass to the gym.
