New, comments

WWE Monday Night Raw comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Feb. 22, 2016) from the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan, featuring the fallout show from the Fastlane pay-per-view (PPV) that went down just last night in Cleveland, Ohio.

Advertised for tonight: It's the official start of the build to WrestleMania 32.

Come right back here at 8 p.m. ET when the Raw live blog kicks off once the show starts on USA. It will be below this line here. (REMINDER: NO GIFS OR PICS ARE ALLOWED IN THE COMMENTS SECTION. OFFENDERS WILL BE BANNED.)

Chris here. This should be fun...

WWE Signature and a recap of Fastlane's main event.

The Vincent J McMahon Award is shown followed by the video of Brock Lesnar murdering Dean Ambrose.

Vincent K McMahon comes out to the ring to present the Vincent J McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award.

Vince promises a night that we will never forget. Tonight, the Legacy of Excellence Award will be presented.

Vince talks about his family's 100-year-long legacy in promoting wrestling before introducing the recipient of the award:

Stephanie McMahon

Steph is beyond surprised and emotion to be getting this award. After her music ends, Vince says that no one deserves it more than Stephanie (as the crowd boos, because of course).

Steph says that she's overwhelmed by the crowd's support of her in getting this award. She also acknowledges the other person who helped her get this award: Triple H.

Stephanie starts to read off some prepared state.....

I should also mention that the crowd is freaking the hell out right about now. Chants of "holy shit" and "this is awesome" are ringing LOUDLY.

As Steph shoots a look of disgust toward Shane, Vince goes to hug his son. Shane blocks the hug attempt. Vince goes for a handshake, but Shane lowers Vince's hand.

Shane thanks the crowd for their ridiculous reaction before ripping Vince for the Vincent J Kennedy Award and Vince giving it to an unworthy recipient like Steph.

Vince tries to talk some sense into Shane, but Shane shuts him up by repeating the advice that Vince once gave him: conduct business face-to-face. Steph tries to shut Shane up by saying that she deserves this award since she's been running things for a long time.

Shane drops a bomb: Steph and Triple H have been running WWE right into the ground. Shane cites ratings, stock, and WWE's injury epidemic in this audience. Steph simply responds by calling Shane a quitter and ordering him out of the ring.

Shane corrects Steph, saying that it's actually her father's ring. He then drops his bigger bombshell. Vince screwed up a few years ago, so he and Shane cut a deal. Simply put, Shane was the one that allowed Stephanie to climb so high up the WWE company ladder. Steph demands an answer from Vince, and the latter tries to blow it off.

Steph keeps the heat up on Shane, but Vince ushers Stephanie out of the ring as she demands answers. Shane holds the ropes for Stephanie, who tells him that she will never forgive him.

As Stephanie walks backstage, Vince starts to demand some answers. Shane starts talking about the continuing McMahon legacy, and him wanting WWE to remain for generation five, six, and seven. With the way WWE is going now, that just doesn't seem possible.

Vince asks what this is all about. Shane simply answers that he wants control of Monday Night Raw. Vince laughs and reminds Shane that he WOULD be controlling WWE, which he acknowledges. Vince eventually accuses Shane of just coming out here for a fight.

Vince makes Shane a deal: control of Monday Night long as Shane has ONE match against an opponent of his choosing. If Shane wins, he has control. If Shane loses, Vince gets everything in Shane's lockbox.

Shane accepts the deal as Vince curses him out (yes, this is censored).

Vince names the details: WrestleMania. Dallas, Texas. Shane McMahon vs THE UNDERTAKER.....HELL IN A CELL!!!!

Holy shit.....

Neville and Lucha Dragons vs The New Day

This was a pretty fun match that got REALLY crazy toward the end due to all the flippy stuff and spots and other insanity. During said insanity, Kofi Kingston messed with Sin Cara's mask, and the distraction allowed Kofi to hit Trouble in Paradise to win.

Backstage, Jojo interviews Roman Reigns about Dean Ambrose getting attacked. Reigns says that all he knows is that Ambrose is having tests done. He then hypes his WrestleMania match with Triple H with a very generic WrestleMania promo.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman come on out to the ring. Lesnar looks ready to kill as usual.

Heyman introduces himself and proclaims this as tonight's main event. After all, this segment involves Lesnar....need we say more?

Heyman reminds us that Lesnar took Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns to Suplex City, BI before locking Reigns in the Kimura. Heyman says that Reigns was just seconds away from tapping out until Ambrose had to ruin things with his trusty steel chair.

You see, this pissed Brock Lesnar off. You don't piss Brock Lesnar off. Ambrose learned this firsthand this afternoon. As a result, Ambrose is out of WrestleMania.

Heyman proclaims that no shield can protect Ambrose from the wrath of Brock Lesnar. Heyman then compares Ambrose to those hardcore kids who do their flippy stuff on the road....until the Mack truck comes up to murder them.

After some mic issues, Heyman proclaims that Brock Lesnar needs a new opponent for WrestleMania. Anyone is fair game, and screwed.

But wait, a horn starts honking. We cut backstage where some ambulance comes into the arena. A still-injured Dean Ambrose gets out and staggers to the ring where Brock Lesnar awaits. Lesnar responds by simply stepping onto Ambrose's head to get to backstage.

But we're still not done. Ambrose takes a mic and tells Lesnar to kiss his ass. He then says that he wants a street-fight against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Lesnar accepts by hitting the F5 on Ambrose onto the floor.

The Usos vs The Ascension

Before the match, The Dudleys come out to welcome The Usos back. They said that their attack wasn't personal; it was just to remind everyone that they are the most decorated tag team in WWE history. They also barb Rikishi and his thongs because of course.

Squash. The Usos win.

The Usos def The Ascension

Chris Jericho comes out to the ring.

Jericho has a story about AJ Styles. When Styles debuted at Royal Rumble, Jericho immediately didn't like him for his "phenomenal" moniker. After his matches with Styles, Jericho realizes that Styles is, in fact, "phenomenal"

Jericho calls Styles to the ring, and the latter responds.

Jericho address Styles and their match last night and the stakes it had. Jericho admits that Styles beat him.

Then the unexpected happens: Jericho congratulates Styles for proving that he belongs in WWE and that he is truly phenomenal.

The two shake hands until the Social Outcasts bless us with their presence.

They make fun of Styles and Jericho shaking hands and all that until Curtis Axel reminds us that Jericho tapped out.

Bo Dallas tells Jericho and AJ that they are a team and that they need to leave the ring.

Jericho responds by saying that he and AJ should team up to face the Outcasts

This was a quick one, Y2AJ won when Jericho locked Axel in the Walls of Jericho

Backstage, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H vent a bit about Shane McMahon before Steph goes to tell Roman Reigns something.

Backstage, Roman Reigns is fiddling with his phone until Stephanie McMahon stops him and tells him that he's facing Sheamus tonight. She then starts talking about brotherhood and how the League of Nations are brothers and how they could possibly injure Reigns tonight and possibly make him forfeit his WrestleMania match.

Also backstage, Goldust bakes R-Truth an "I'm Sorry" cake and tries to recruit Truth again. Again, he fails, and Goldust gets cake on his face.

Kane, Big Show, and Ryback vs The Wyatt Family

This happened. The end came when Ryback abandoned his team to invade catering. This allowed Bray Wyatt to hit Sister Abigail on Kane to win.

The Wyatt Family def Kane, Big Show, and Ryback

Backstage, Rich Brennan interviews Ryback as to why he left the match. Ryback said that he had nothing to prove. He's done being in tag teams, and he wants the brass ring.

Sasha Banks vs Naomi

This was a decent one. Tamina kept interjecting herself until Becky Lynch came down to kick some lass. This allowed Sasha to get the Bank Statement to win.

Sasha Banks def Naomi

As Team BAE celebrates, Charlotte comes out to mock them (I should note that Charlotte's top looks VERY similar to a Bella top). She then says that Becky and Sasha will fight each other for the opportunity to face Charlotte for the Divas Championship.

Backstage, Stephanie complains to Vince about Shane possibly running the WWE. Vince reassures Steph that the odds of Shane winning are astronomical.

The Godfather is announced for the WWE Hall of Fame

Roman Reigns vs Sheamus

This one just happened. The League of Nation interjected a couple of times and were thrown out for their troubles. Eventually Sheamus ate a spear on the outside. As Sheamus lays dead outside, Triple H comes out in battle mode.

No contest

Instead, Trips approaches and the two start brawling until Trips hits Reigns in the throat with the ring bell. This leads to Trips beating Reigns' face off of the announce table until it bleeds. The beating continues until a pack of refs and doctors and people separate the two.

The separation is short lived as Trips separates the ring steps, drags Reigns to said steps, and Pedigrees him into said steps.

Trips poses over his victim with the title to close.
