Finn Bálor is targeting a WrestleMania return

He may have gotten a little physical during a recent trip to Scotland, but that doesn’t mean Finn Bálor will be returning to recapture the WWE Universal title right away... at least according to what the man himself told Sam Roberts on a recent Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast.

The Irishman updated Sam on his progress recovering from shoulder surgery, and what his regiment is while working toward a return. In so doing, he stressed that he has to rein himself in to ensure he doesn’t push too hard... which is one reason why his planned return date is a bit farther out than the one many fans were hoping for, January’s Royal Rumble:

Six hours of rehab every day. Three in the morning, yeah, three hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon. And the guys down in Birmingham, Alabama have been incredible. I've been working out with them everyday.

...I feel real good, but I've got to be real careful. The target's WrestleMania. There's talk it could be sooner, but really that's the hard target. And that's what I'm aiming for right now.

Of course, that “there’s talk” statement will keep hope alive we might hear “Catch Your Breath” in San Antonio next month, which is more in line with the initial estimates he’d be out for six months... but at least it sounds like we won’t have to wait too long in 2017 to see The Demon again.
