WWE has made no secret of the fact that they covet the services of MMA mega-star Ronda Rousey. She may or may not be interested in doing something with the pro wrestling promotion but there was always business to take care of first, like her return to the UFC for a bantamweight championship fight against titleholder Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 last night (Dec. 30, 2016) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A win would likely mean continuing her MMA career but a loss could mean anything.

She lost.

Badly.

There was really never any moment Rousey was in the fight. Nunes came forward with punches and when she started landing, she never really stopped. She was in control the entire way, landing hard punch after hard punch until Ronda was out on her feet, only the fence keeping her up, and referee Herb Dean stepped in to stop it.

“She lit Ronda up like a Christmas tree,” as Joe Rogan put it.

WWE will surely come calling but after Rousey disappeared following her knockout loss to Holly Holm, it’s not unfair to wonder if she won’t be showing her face in public anytime soon.
