When Mickie James came back to WWE for a short run in NXT, one that included giving Asuka a damn good title match at the NXT TakeOver: Toronto event just last month, it looked like that was all we would get of the former women’s champion. Thankfully, the powers that be were impressed enough she was signed to a new contract.
But she’s not sticking around in NXT.
That’s if the Wrestling Observer is correct in its statement that she will be headed for SmackDown Live pending her physicals, which she was in Pittsburgh to handle today. She would add depth to a division that already includes the likes of Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Natalya, Carmella, Naomi, and, of course, the always amazing Eva Marie.
Perhaps James could be Eva’s first match when she finally returns?
Either way, the blue brand will have a roster of women arguably on par with what Monday Night Raw has to offer, if it doesn’t already.
