The alternate covers for BOOM! Studios’ WWE #1 comic book are too sweet

After launching their partnership with the WWE: Then. Now. Forever. one-shot (check our review of it here) in November, BOOM! Studios is gearing up for the start of their new ongoing comic book series in January, 2017.

WWE #1 will hit digital stores and comic book shops in three weeks (Jan. 11), and BOOM! recently revealed a number of alternate covers for the issue.

Comics aren’t quite the minefield of variant, foil-embossed covers they were in the 90s any more, but mixing up the illustration on the front is still a way to generate some buzz and create collector’s items. Luckily, with WWE (and unlike many past licensed wrestling comics) BOOM! has lined up some great artists for these books.

You won’t be able to just stroll down to your local store to get these, however. Follow the links below to head to the retailers selling limited editions of each cover:

Finn Balor by Corbyn Kern, available from JJ’s Comics:

Finn Balor by Oliver Barrett, available from Fried Pie Comics:

Sasha Banks (Boss and Champion editions) by Audrey Mok, available at Friendly Neighborhood Comics:

Bayley by Fabio Valle, available from ComicXposure:

John Cena by Nakia X Mann, available from Tate’s Comics:

The New Day by Jerry Gaylord, available from Third Eye Comics:

In addition to these beauties, there are few more versions you can get directly from BOOM! Studios’ website - including an interlocking series of covers by Brent Schoonover depicting a fantasy Royal Rumble match where AJ Styles duels with Shawn Michaels and Cesaro swings Ric Flair (on the two available so far).
