Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks made history again tonight (Sun., Dec. 18, 2016) at the Roadblock: End of the Line pay-per-view (PPV) at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania when they competed in a 30-minute Iron Man match for the Raw women’s championship.
This was also the last time these two would wrestle for that title (for now) with a no rematch clause attached to the bout.
And, once again, we have a new champion.
Charlotte scored the first fall with just under 11 minutes remaining in the match, hitting Natural Selection from the top rope. Banks evened it at one fall a piece with a surprise roll up a couple minutes later. Sasha scored the next fall when she countered a moonsault into the Bank Statement and Charlotte tapped to it.
Flair went to work on the injured knee at that point, eager to make up the one pin difference. Banks made her work hard to get the Figure Four locked in, even reversing it at one point. Charlotte turned it back around and bridged up into the Figure Eight with just seconds remaining.
Sasha couldn’t hold off any longer and tapped. That tied it at 2 falls as time expired.
You know what that means.
SUDDEN DEATH.
Charlotte continued working the knee — even when they were getting mixed up with it — and reversed the Bank Statement into a Figure Four. When they showed Sasha’s face she was bloodied and screaming trying to get to the ropes. Charlotte bridged up into the Figure Eight again and, once more, Banks had to tap to it.
