It’s been something like 17 straight pay-per-view (PPV) events since Seth Rollins was in a match that didn’t involve a title. That streak came to an end tonight (Sun., Dec. 18, 2016) at Roadblock: End of the Line at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, when he wrestled Chris Jericho in a straight singles match.
They had a match about like you would expect.
Rollins fought out of the Walls of Jericho on multiple occasions. Right when he looked primed to win the match, Universal Champion Kevin Owens made his way out to get involved. He ended up distracting the referee during a Jericho roll up attempt and that, presumably, cost him a three count.
When he noticed Owens, he yelled him off before reengaging Rollins. It didn’t take long before Rollins kicked him in the gut and hit the Pedigree to win the match.
On to Owens next? Or maybe it’s finally time for Triple H?
