AJ Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler title match set for SmackDown Live in Chicago on Dec. 27

James Ellsworth came down with a cold, so SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon and General Manager Daniel Bryan sent him home from SmackDown this week to get better. That meant delaying his shot at AJ Styles and the WWE world championship yet again.

No word on whether or not that match will happen next week.

What we know will happen the week after, on Dec. 27 in Chicago, Illinois, is Styles defending the strap against Dolph Ziggler.

That’s because McMahon and Bryan booked a Fatal 4-Way elimination main event for this week’s episode of SmackDown Live in Washington D.C. to determine the top contender. Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, and Luke Harper were all given a chance and it was XXX who made the most of it.

The order of elimination:

1. The Miz
2. Luke Harper
3. Dean Ambrose

Miz stuck around to help eliminate Ambrose, so we can expect that Intercontinental title feud to continue.
