Back in July, just after the brand split was implemented, WWE announced that Shelton Benjamin would make his long awaited return to the company to help bolster the SmackDown Live roster. Before he got the chance to do so, news broke that he needed shoulder surgery and would be out for somewhere around half a year.
Today, he revealed he still plans to comeback:
For the record. I will make moves to return to @WWE when I am back to 110% physically. Anywhere from 4 to 6 months by my doc calculation.

The blue brand is doing just fine without him but it never hurts to have a good-to-great wrestler hanging around the mid-card having fun matches.
