After week’s of promotion, WWE delivered on its promise of Undertaker making his return to television for the first time since WrestleMania 32 on SmackDown Live tonight (Nov. 15, 2016) in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
He said he was back for two reasons.
- WrestleMania will no longer define him. He’s back to take some souls and dig some holes, as he put it.
- Team SmackDown Live better win at Survivor Series or they’re going to have something to fear.
This sure made it sound like “The Phenom” will make an appearance at the pay-per-view (PPV) this weekend. They never elaborated on what “I’m back” means — be that in the sense that he’ll work a full schedule, or even a part-time schedule, or if he’s “back” in the sense The Rock has been “back” — but we’ll surely learn more in the weeks to come.
