WWE Survivor Series 2016 match card, rumors

New, 30 comments

The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Survivor Series event set to take place on Sun., Nov. 20, 2016, at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. After the brand split earlier this year it was decided this would be a dual brand event featuring match-ups pitting Raw vs. SmackDown Live.

We're just one week from showtime and here's how the card looks right now:

- Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar

After 12 years away, Goldberg used the WWE 2K17 deal to make his way back into WWE for one more match. He's doing it for his son, who never got to watch him wrestle earlier in his career. This is a rematch from WrestleMania 20 but is being promoted with the tagline "fantasy warfare gets real." It is just as much about promoting the video game as it is doing the match itself.

- Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown Live (Men's elimination match)

Team Raw: Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins
Team SmackDown Live: AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Shane McMahon*

*James Ellsworth will serve as mascot

- Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown Live (Women's elimination match)

Team Raw: Charlotte, Bayley, Nia Jax, Alicia Fox, Sasha Banks
Team SmackDown Live: Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Carmella, Naomi*

*Natalya will serve as coach

- Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown Live (Tag team elimination match)

Team Raw: The New Day, Enzo & Big Cass, Sheamus & Cesaro, Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows, Shining Stars
Team SmackDown Live: Heath Slater & Rhyno, The Hype Bros, The Usos, American Alpha, Breezango

- Dolph Ziggler vs. Sami Zayn (Intercontinental title open challenge)

The story here is The Miz isn't a fighter and Ziggler wants a real challenge so he issued an open challenge to any star from Raw for his Intercontinental championship. Sami Zayn then defeated Rusev for the right to answer that challenge.

- Brian Kendrick vs. Kalisto (Cruiserweight championship)

There's more than just the Cruiserweight championship on the line. The deal here was that Daniel Bryan cut a deal with Mick Foley where because Zayn gets the shot at the Intercontinental title, Kalisto gets a shot at the Cruiserweight title. The added stipulation is that if Kalisto wins, the entirety of the Cruiserweight division will come to SmackDown Live.

That's the card so far. You buying?
