Next week’s episode of SmackDown will be the 900th in the series, which means WWE has been given a reason to exploit it for marketing purposes. That also means they have to deliver on the promises of a big show, however, so they’ve called in a few old stars for what will serve as the Survivor Series go home show while announcing a couple of matches.
Here’s what they’ve got planned so far:
- Undertaker will make his first appearance on WWE television since defeating Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 32. They’ve given no hint towards what he may have to say, or do, instead counting on fans to want to tune in to find out.
- Edge will return to host a “Cutting Edge” segment with the entirety of the SmackDown Live men’s Survivor Series team.
- Dolph Ziggler will defend the Intercontinental championship against The Miz in what WWE.com makes it sound like will be the show open.
- Another Nikki Bella vs. Carmella match with the added storyline that Natayla, the coach of the SmackDown Live women’s Survivor Series team, can’t figure out how to get everyone on the same page.
