The Kickoff Show for tonight’s (Sun., Oct. 9, 2016) WWE No Mercy pay-per-view (PPV) at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California was supposed to feature a singles match pitting Jack Swagger against Baron Corbin. For reasons only Vince McMahon could tell you, that was changed around today.
Indeed, Swagger vs. Corbin was moved to the PPV card while Curt Hawkins did some trolling and an 8-man tag team match filled up time during the free portion of the night’s entertainment.
Really, it was a way to showcase a pair of babyface teams — American Alpha and The Hype Bros — in a winning effort over a pair of loser heel teams — The Vaudevillains and The Ascension. It did its job well enough.
