Paul Heyman, WWE keeping the Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg fires burning

Though his interview with Johnathan Coachman on ESPN SportsCenter didn’t contain any bombshells, or do much to build a return beyond the usual teases like “never say never”, reports are a match between Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar is going to happen - likely at next month’s Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV) in Toronto.

And while what we’re getting at this point isn’t much more than what we got around SummerSlam - all parties continue to talk up the rivalry between Brock and Bill, in a way that makes sure to reference WWE 2K17, the video game Lesnar is on the cover of and Goldberg is a downloadable character for which comes out next week (Oct. 10).

Case in point, this Tweet from Brock’s advocate Paul Heyman. The legendary promoter and manager is responding to comments Goldberg made to Coachman about defeating Lesnar at WrestleMania XX, and being willing to offer the Mayor of Suplex City a rematch:

WWE.com featured the Tweet right alongside their recap of Goldberg’s appearance on ESPN, which lends credence to the rumors WWE is building toward a one-off rematch sooner rather than later, despite the former football player saying he’d need months to get into shape.

Whether or not we end up with Lesnar/Goldberg II on Nov. 20, expect this talk to continue as a means to generate video game sales and keep people talking.
