Here’s a real thing that happened.
Matthew Dubé, a representative for Quebec’s Chambly—Borduas region in the House of Commons, officially recognized the WWE Universal title won by Kevin Owens (real name Steen) in the Canadian Parliament.
KO’s hometown of Marieville is in Dubé’s district and, well, Canada is proud of its pro wrestling legacy, as you can tell (even though most of his speech is in French) when he name drops Pat Patterson, Maurice Vachon, Bret Hart and Owens’ best friend, Chris Jericho.
As the MP wrote on his Facebook page along with the video below:
Today, in the House of Commons, I paid tribute to Marieville's own Kevin Owens for winning the WWE Universal Champion last August 29th. It's time for the Kevin Owens show!
