Erick Rowan won’t be lurking around any more corners backstage at SmackDown Live trying to scare Randy Orton (probably). That’s because the big man got surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff recently, according to a report from PW Insider.
News of Rowan being injured was first reported by Top Rope Press.
WWE has yet to make an announcement on his status either way.
This would be the second time Rowan has missed significant time due to injury over the past year, as he was out around this time last year dealing with a torn bicep. That came shortly after he reunited with Luke Harper.
Speaking of Harper, he’s reportedly been cleared to return so perhaps he’ll take Rowan’s spot as Wyatt’s right hand man on SmackDown? He was backstage at Monday Night Raw in recent weeks but wasn’t there last night.
Stay tuned on all that, but at the very least Rowan will be out for a while.
