Early in the evening, Brian Kendrick found TJ Perkins backstage to ask the Cruiserweight champion if he would consider letting Kendrick win their match at tonight’s (Sun., Oct. 30, 2016) WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
Perkins maintained that while they’re friends and he hasn’t forgotten what Kendrick has done for him, he wouldn’t give up the title so easy.
And he didn’t.
The story of the match was Kendrick’s continued desperation and exasperated response to Perkins’ refusal to go along:

When all else failed, Kendrick went for Sliced Bread #2 and faked an injury when Perkins pushed him off. Perkins’ responded by showing concern, going right up to his downed foe to check on him. That gave Kendrick the opening for a headbutt followed by the Captain’s Hook to get the tapout.
Your new Cruiserweight champion, THE Brian Kendrick.
