WWE has added Brock Lesnar to the list of “Featured Superstars” for their Sat. Dec. 3 show in Mexico City. It will be the Beast Incarnate’s first appearance in Mexico for the company.
No word yet on his opponent, or why the move was made - although it’s easy to speculate on the latter. A big name is often added to major shows, and Mexico is a big wrestling market and important to WWE. In the past, Undertaker has appeared at live events in the United States’ southern neighbor, even when he wasn’t involved in storylines on Raw or SmackDown.
If you’re wondering if this could lead the Arena Ciudad de Mexico show being broadcast on WWE Network like 2015’s Beast in the East from Tokyo or Live from Madison Square Garden... it seems doubtful. SmackDown’s TLC pay-per-view (PPV) is the next night, and the brand split PPVs are creating plenty of content for the streaming service right now.
Still, it will be exciting for Mexican fans to see the capital of lucha libre transformed into el Ciudad de Suplex for a night.
