It wasn't long ago that rumors suggested the Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Raw women's championship match would main event the upcoming Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) on Oct. 30, 2016, at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Then General Manager Mick Foley straight up said it would before changing his story and claiming he's not sure what match will go on last that night.
So let's tell him what match should.
There are three matches that could occupy that slot, all taking place inside Hell in a Cell:
- Roman Reigns vs. Rusev (US championship): There's a certain appeal here if only because these are two big ol' boys who are good at beating each other up. One would think they'll be that much better inside the Cell, though Reigns didn't exactly tear the house down with Bray Wyatt in a similar spot last year.
- Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins (Universal championship): The feud has suffered from the fact that it's hardly about the two guys actually wrestling each other and more about Rollins battling his former Authority stablemates and Owens' friendship with Chris Jericho. Still, it's the top men's title on the brand.
- Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte (Raw women's championship): They're already making history by having this inside Hell in a Cell, why not go the full nine and let them go on last? The show is in Boston, Sasha's hometown, and fan reaction to Foley's initial announcement was positive and the reaction to his retraction was mostly negative. It feels like the right time to make the move.
