Big Show walks back retirement talk after Shaq match at WrestleMania 33

For months now, Big Show has been hinting at retiring from WWE following a planned match with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal at WrestleMania 33 next year in Orlando. It would seem a fitting end for the 44-year-old big man, but it may not be.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Show gives the impression he could continue on after all:

"This is going to be a big media spectacle, once we start kicking off the angle, who knows what we're going to do and who knows how we're going to tie it together, how we're going to make it work? I don't see anything bigger than that happening for me in this stage of my career. I'm happy for the spotlight that I'm going to share with Shaq at WrestleMania and that's that. If that's the last opportunity, thank you very much, it's been a fantastic time. If Vince comes up with something else, I'll be there with a smile on my face and make that happen too."

That’s what has kept Undertaker coming back so many years past the point he should have called it quits — feeling duty-bound to come through for Vince when the boss man asks. That said, if Show can still go — and he wouldn’t be asked to do some of the stunts “The Deadman” does — why not bring him out as a special attraction when the time is right?
