24 year old Terrance Jean-Jacques was arrested and charged with assaulting his pregnant girlfriend this weekend. The Eagle-Tribune out of his native New Hampshire reported from his arraignment yesterday (Weds., Oct. 19) on charges of assault and battery, kidnapping, witness intimidation, destruction of property and threatening to commit a crime.
This is notable for a pro wrestling blog because Jean-Jacques, a standout amateur wrestler from the University of Iowa and Rhode Island College, signed a Developmental deal with WWE in April. He was part of the Performance Center class which included current NXT tag team TM-61 and women’s wrestler Nikki Cross.
Jean-Jacques is scheduled to undergo surgery next week and because of that, his parents requested he be released to their care. The judge denied the request, and he remains jailed until a “dangerousness hearing” next Tuesday.
WWE, in compliance with their domestic violence policy, suspended Jean-Jacques immediately. He will remain suspended pending the resolution of his case.
In a statement, the company said:
We have zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Terrance Jean-Jacques has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest.
