The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the No Mercy show set to take place on Sun., Oct. 9, 2016, at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. This will be the first event in the No Mercy chronology in eight years. It is a SmackDown Live exclusive show.
We're now just one week out from showtime and this is how the card looks right now:
- AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena (WWE world championship)
Ambrose gets a rematch for the title but Cena wants a piece too, so he's in. They've pushed that BIG MATCH JOHN wants to win his 16th world title to tie Ric Flair for the record.
- Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss (SmackDown women's championship)
Lynch became champion by winning a six-pack challenge at Backlash. Bliss became top contender by winning a Fatal 5-Way elimination match the next week.
- The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental title vs. career)
Ziggler, in an effort to get a rematch, put his career on the line in an emotional promo.
- Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. The Usos (SmackDown tag team championship)
The champs defeated Jimmy & Jey in the tournament final at Backlash to claim the gold. The Usos had to defeat American Alpha to earn this rematch.
- Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt
Everyone is nuts, and they're going to hurt each other.
That's the card so far. Nikki Bella vs. Carmella and Baron Corbin vs. Jack Swagger are other matches they've built to but have yet to officially be announced.
