James Ellsworth used an assist from special guest referee Dean Ambrose to defeat WWE World Champion AJ Styles on SmackDown Live last week. General Manager Daniel Bryan was so impressed he booked Ellsworth in another match with Styles for SmackDown Live this week but with the title on the line.
Considering he’s not a full time wrestler for WWE, we can’t know if this is the last we’ll see of the man with two hands and a fighting chance. When asked just that by Chuck Carroll at CBS Local Sports, he had this to say:
“I have an idea, but I don’t really know. I don’t think it will be the last you see of me, but I don’t know. They really keep me in the dark about everything until I get there at TV. I have a little hint that it might happen, but I really am 100 percent not sure.”
And if this is the end?
“I’m just trying to stay levelheaded and cool. I will say this. If nothing else were to happen after Tuesday, man, I did more than I thought I would ever do, and I’m very happy and blessed with how my wrestling career has winded up.”
If he wins, they’ll have to bring him back.
Go Ellsworth!
