Steve Austin: Come up with better storylines for Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns

From a recent Q&A edition of The Steve Austin Show (transcription via Wrestling Inc):

"He needs a little bit more fire on the offense, a little more active, sell on the run on defense. I think that'd help him out. He needs to pick his head up. He needs to sell on the run, be more active. He has a bad habit of dying when he sells. To his credit, he will sell for anybody. He's very unselfish in the ring in regards to that. But because he sells so much, he just needs a more active sell to keep those people buying in, so he can get that sympathy. He's a big, good looking guy. He's putting his game together. Come up with better storylines for the guy. I still have high hopes for Roman Reigns."

Yes, we’re still talking about Roman Reigns and what WWE needs to do to help him get over as a top babyface in the year of our lord 2016 but Austin, veteran that he is, makes some great points here. The one that stands out most is the fact that creative needs to do better in how they write the Reigns character.

Booking him to run in on a wedding celebration? I don’t know. Pairing him with Sasha Banks worked out well, but that only goes so far. Austin’s career was made when he got the perfect storyline at just the right time.

Is there a perfect storyline that could catapult Reigns to the top and keep him there?
