The New Day will defend their titles against Cesaro and Sheamus at Hell in a Cell

WWE.com

It was officially announced on WWE.com that the New Day will defend their tag team championships against the dubious duo of Cesaro and Sheamus at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) on Oct. 30 in Boston.

Cesaro and Sheamus earned the title match when they tied their best of seven series when their final match ended in a no contest. Instead of calling for a tie breaker match, General Manager Mick Foley said the championship opportunity that was promised to the winner would now be a tag team championship opportunity for both men

The two men have still not found a way to get along. They’ve won a couple matches over some local talent, but they did not do it as a well oiled team. Then tonight, as Cesaro battled Kofi Kingston one on one, Sheamus hung out on Facebook live at ringside. At the end of the match, the Irishman started fighting Big E on the outside, which distracted Cesaro and allowed Kofi to get the win. So clearly, these two are not on the same page.

It seems like one of the easier challenges for the New Day as they try to become the longest reigning tag champs of all time. But it’s always possible that Cesaro and Sheamus put it together in time to pull out the shocker and deny them that accolade.

Here’s the updated Hell in a Cell match card:

  • Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte (Hell in a Cell match for Raw women’s championship)
  • Roman Reigns vs. Rusev (Hell in a Cell match for US championship)
  • Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins (Universal championship)
  • TJ Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick (Cruiserweight championship)
  • New Day vs. Cesaro & Sheamus (Tag Team championship)
