As news broke that WWE Superstar Paige has been suspended for 60 days as the result of a second violation of the company’s Wellness Policy, her father, British wrestler and promoter Ricky Knight (real name Patrick Bevis) issued a statement via his Facebook page.
In the post, reported first by Pro Wrestling Sheet, Knight says the issue is related to prescribed pain killers Paige is taking while rehabbing her neck. He also says Paige “has been let down big time in the USA and the proper care and advice needed in the position she has been in has not happened”.

Paige’s mother, wrestler Saraya Knight, shared her husband’s post with the comment, “I wish she would come home.....” and then posted this message on her own, which doesn’t specifically reference the situation, but given the timing, is being interpreted as a response to it:

Saraya (real name Julia Hamer-Bevis) has spoken out on her daughter’s behalf before, but only in response to wrestling websites and “dirt sheets”, not to Paige’s employer.
Rumors swirled as the former Divas champion’s first Wellness Suspension was set to expire that both she and WWE were exploring parting ways despite their being numerous years left on her contract. It will be interesting to see how WWE reacts, publicly or behind-the-scenes, to the statements made by Paige and her family in the wake of today’s suspension.
